Italy. An interesting, infuriating place to live as a gin-raddled expat. Some notes and observations.

Bottle It!
That most sacred of times is upon us when we start bottling Smooth Tony's wine; this is some Cabernet Franc being sorted. The bottling is done strictly in accordance with the different phases of the moon, I'm still not sure what they mean but I have learnt that if you bottle at a certain point when the moon is waning, it can get almost fizzy, vivace as the Italians pleasingly put it. Vinogirl will probably be reeling in horror and disgust at the photograph, but all the bottles are clean, honest!

On the next flight.
Vinogirl can be a bit of a stickler but she is a firm believer in results....is it good? Cab franc is an underated fav of mine.
Ron, looks good. Alcohol can take care of most things, (unless there is a spanner in one of the bottles...which I have seen!!!)
Have some bottling to do here soon too...fun, fun, fun.
Just got home last night and spent today looking at my vines, which went insane over the last fortnight.
Ron - i think you may need a drink - severe camera shake ( or lurch as we call it ) in evidence. Love the scene, an air of conspiratorial shiftiness, the odd glance over the shoulder .......
