My father had something like this. It was dark green with tan upholstery. I think he drove it into the side of a Midland Red bus in Wigston, but it could equally have been the mid grey Wolseley 15/50. That little lighted badge on the radiator grille flickering and being finally extinguished by red painted aluminium. But I don't think my father saw it like that.
That's a Sprint! If it has the original engine, it is a) a gem b) rare as.... c) worth a punt. It was a snorting little motor that blew some of the Leyland Grp's cobewebs away....driven by wheelers such as Andy Rouse, Gerry Marshall, Tony Pond.....
Interesting to compare the Dolomite, styled by Michelotti, with the light-as-a-feather Alfasud Sprint parked in front of it. This little gem sprang from the pen of Giorgio Guigiaro. It too went like stink; it too collapsed into a heap of rust and sun-brittled vinyl in less time than it took to say "You can say what you like about Alfas but they don't half go".
They both look great, still. A testament to good design, and both of these cars have been an object of lust for this contributor at some point.
PS when your Dad's Wolseley bought it in the side of the bus, was it like the Terminator croaking at the end of the film, with Sarah Connor/your Mum watching the lights go out?
Tony Dron also used a Dolomite with some success. Lifting the inside front wheel exiting Gerards still wearing his flared trousers, or were they Harris Tweed? Was there a story in the Bible about loaves and Bantams? or was it fish?

Ron, I know just how you feel - and the car as well, of course.

Sorry Fred, nothing like that I'm afraid. A lot of dark mumbling and a picture coming of the wall.
I also meant to say: When were motorbikes first mentioned in the Bible? When David's triumph was heard all over Israel.
His was, indeed, a matchless success.

The ariel beings sang with joy at all this Biblical activity...
My dad had an Alfasud. Everything you say is true. I keep its remains in a small jam jar in the garage.
James was one of the disciples, but we don't hear much these days of the later St. Francis of Barnett.
